I've delt with a lot of courts, if I have any reason to go to the courthouse, I look forward to having it addressed at the the Geauga county courts.
I don't know what the laws/rules are on giving flowers and candy to staff, but they deserve it.
Divorce hearings are never fun, courthouse visits are rarely ever pleasant. But the courts of Common Please and Municipal Court here in Geauga County really set the bar high on professionalism and quality service to the citizens who depend on them.
I had a divorce hearing here, the clerks were especially helpful and I was able to navigate the process myself. The Bailiff who did the hearing was incredibly patient and respectful and polite. I had a situation where I showed up early but my ex didn't show up on time, and had to be dragged by her family to help her go through with it. Stuff like this is never easy for anyone. But the bailiff waited to have that hearing 2 whole hours late. The process was just as smooth as any others, but I had a hell of a time getting everyone together in the room. But when all was said and done, my ex was in and out within 15 mins, I was there for over 3 hours. I even asked the judge if I could wait in the courtroom for a extra minute out of respect that my ex didn't want to see my face, and he let me.
