As a first time builder of my own new home in Concord, Ohio, Berkshire Electric was referred to me by a friend in the construction business. Bill, the sole proprietor, is extremely knowledgeable with local and state electrical codes. He ended up correcting me several time to insure I would never have any issues 1, 5, 10 or 30 years from now. His work is neat and clean, straight line runs all thru the house and continually cleaned his work areas as he moved thru the house. Even on the outlet and switch covers, all the slotted screw heads are perfectly vertical.. All of them! That is attention to detail! Once he started my project, he stayed with it and never let the electrical aspect fall behind schedule. Wish I could say that about all my trades...
As a premium contractor for nearly 35 years our company specializes in affluent work, Bill is one of the most professional electricians I have ever used, fairly priced his work is timely and he is very neat, he has passed all our background checks and is a valued contractor for our company.
I never "rejected" your quote, you never gave me that opportunity. I also NEVER asked you to quote the install of the portable AC unit, I only asked for a quote for the dedicated outlet. You included the install of the unit in the quote by your own choice.
I did NOT have someone else "start the job" as you stated below. That is a LIE! I explained to you in the email that my brother-in-law, trying to be helpful, asked a neighbor to go over to hook up the vent hose for the AC unit to the window. He didn't know that we needed a dedicated outlet at that time and didn't know I was trying to get quotes. No work was completed that required a permit. In fact, I never gave you instructions to obtain a permit - we were still in the quote stage. We had not agreed to any work by you or any other electrician. You later threatened me in another email by saying you were going to report me to Geauga County for completing work without a permit.
Bill was kind enough to come out to our home in Huntsburg on very short notice and successfully diagnosed and repaired a wiring issue preventing our finished basement ceiling lights from turning on. An issue that the original installer could not quickly fix. He also went above and beyond by quickly and professionally finishing a bathroom vanity light install for us. And all for a very reasonable fee. I would highly recommend his company and services to anyone in the area. Thank you!
Bill wired my entire home for a new build here in Chagrin, he made changes in the fly without any issue. Thought of things that I would never had thought of. When I was doing landscape work I recommended him to our Landscape designer. He used Bill and was delighted, I believe Bill now works with them when he is available. I had an issue with the outlets recently, called Bill, he then walked me through it on the phone. Definitely would use Bill in the future.

First of all, "Bill" from Chardon, I took issue with the condescending tone you had on the phone. "Rude" was your word, not mine.
Not very helpful. Talked to me like I was stupid and couldn't be bothered because our job was too small.
I contacted you for the second time to quote ONLY the install of the dedicated outlet, which I had asked for in the first conversation. You stated in your reply that the job was going to be very complicated and that you'd have to do a shorter run and that would reduce the quote by $20 making it below your minimum of $300. Basically, you said you wouldn't do the job.
Addition 1: After giving this review above, the owner felt it necessary to email me and call me a screwball.
I have never met or worked with you either, "Bill" from Chardon, and I never made any "libelous" comments in my initial review. And for the record, the only edits I've made to this review were to ADD the fact that you resorted to name-calling after I left my initial review (see line 1, completely unedited!) and to add my rebuttal to the lies you posted in your comments.
I contacted you based on a review that said you were willing to do small jobs as well as large jobs, so in my opinion, it seemed you were telling me you didn't want the work. I got the impression that you were brushing me off because you thought I'd "gone behind your back" to install the unit, but that was absolutely not the case.
